Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery is delighted to be hosting three exhibitions as part of this year’s festival, kicking-off with Festival of Arts: Art Exhibition.

Spread over two large galleries the exhibition is the platform for the visual arts at the heart of the annual festivals, bringing together the borough’s diverse talents in a celebration of the arts. Each year, the Festival of Arts: Art Exhibition features public submissions with awards given to the best artwork in each category. There is a fantastic variety of subjects and mediums to awe and inspire and there’s also a whole gallery dedicated to the creative work of our budding young artists submitted by many local schools. This much loved event always receives a huge response and this year is no different.

Cllr Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture says: “It’s fantastic that everyone gets to take part in this event, from school children to amateur artists. It is a delight to see so much local talent! The festival organisers do a magnificent job with the full programme and it is a wonderful event to be hosted by the Museum.”

The Art Exhibition is the first of three exhibitions held as part of the Nuneaton Festival of Arts. The Photography exhibition follows in April (4 April – 16 April) and the Craft and Needlecraft exhibition will open in May (2 May – 31 May).

The Festival of Arts is organised by a team of volunteers and offers the opportunity for both individuals and groups to take part. They appoint expert judges to select prize winners and work tirelessly to carry out all the administrative tasks that this popular annual event entails.

As with all our exhibitions, admission is FREE and there are other displays to enjoy during your visit. Check out the Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery Facebook page for full details about upcoming event days and activities.
