2017 is getting off to an exciting start at The Almanack Kenilworth as it launches a new menu packed full of delicious drinks, mouthwatering meals and sensational snacks. Visitors to the popular gastropub will be able to indulge their tastebuds in a range of options geared up for dining, grazing and sharing throughout the day.
Head chef Jakub Fijack has been getting creative in the kitchen with a series of irresistible dishes available from 12 noon until 10 at night. Think free-range, flat iron chicken and skinny chips, classic smoked haddock fishcakes with a soft poached egg and slow-roasted Cornish lamb shanks. Those looking for a lighter bite can tuck into pan-fried scallops with pork croquettes or grilled Cornish mackerel with a warm potato, red onion and cucumber salad.
Small pots for mixing and matching can also be served up tapas style with a glass of something from the bar, or ordered after dinner if you're in the mood for late-night nibbles. Enjoy smoked mackerel pâté with soused cucumber, sesame-crusted halloumi with peanuts and crunchy vegetables or Blythbrugh pork croquettes with apple sauce either individually or on a board, and team them with Puttanesca olives or toasted sourdough and lightly spiced, whipped Chop House butter.
Tightening your purse strings after Christmas? Not to worry – there's a cracking choice of daily deal dishes on offer, with two fabulous courses for just £12.50 at lunchtime every day except Sundays. Look out for steak frites – a 28-day dry-aged minute steak with chips and Béarnaise sauce, followed by warm sticky flapjack with poached figs and pecan and brown butter ice cream. On Sundays meanwhile, The Almanack's classic roasts include bottomless roasties and towering Yorkies with sweet crumble served at the table to finish up.
Just in for drinks? Due to popular demand, The Almanack's branded beer glasses are making a comeback this year, alllowing you to savour a perfectly poured pint of Peroni, Purity or Estrella in a unique glass.
On Friday evenings, you can also treate yourself to one of three Grand Gins and get another on the house, with choices randing from a classic London Dry Beefeater to Hendrick's distinctive cucumber and rose-infused gin.
"We're excited to be kicking off the New Year with plenty of good things to eat and drink and plenty of good reasons to visit the pub. I've put a lot of thought into the new dishes on my menu; I love serving the good stuff and there's even more of it on offer right now from breakfast right through to dinner,” " says Fijak.
"I'll be serving my new gastropub dishes all day so you can eat well until 10 o'clock at night, and the new arrivals on our bar menu mean you can order something tasty to go with a good bottle of wine or a beer, or for those moments when the munchies take over. Jon, Ania and the team will be taking good care of you too, whenever you visit."
The new menu is now being served at The Almanack from 12 noon until 10pm every day. As an extra incentive to stop by, the pub is offering £15 off for those booking dinners on any week day before 10th February – just quote 'New Year's Treat' to take advantage of the discount.
Breakfast is available until noon and Gin O’clock is every Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Roasts are also served all day on Sundays until 9pm.
