Coventry has been awarded £2 million to revive run-down street, The Burges, which survived the World War II bombings.

The city is one of many towns and cities that have received part of the £95 million government funding. The money will go towards regenerating historic buildings to create a sustainable future for them.

The Burges will see old buildings being restored and shop fronts will be installed that are in keeping with the existing architecture. The River Sherbourne will also be opened up.

More details will be revealed soon.
