Brand new show for younger audiences, packed full of songs, games & laughter.

Get ready for a road-trip full of fun adventures. From castles to caves, dragons to dinosaurs and ice-creams to muddy puddles - there is something for all of the family and their friends to enjoy, including Miss Rabbit, Mr Bull, Suzy Sheep, Gerald Giraffe and more!

From the small screen to the big stage, Peppa Pig: Best Day Ever has come to the Alexandra, Birmingham this week. For young fans, this hour-long live production is the perfect accompaniment to the popular TV show, bringing the story to life in front of their eyes.

This show was my two-and-a-half year old son’s first visit to the theatre and whilst I was apprehensive that he might find it a little overwhelming, there is so much going on that he was mesmerised from start to finish.

The bright colour palette used replicates some of the well-known locations from the TV episodes including Peppa’s house on top of the hill and the castle and caves they visit. The costumes and puppets are an excellent representation of the much-loved characters and praise must be given to the cast who seamlessly manage the props. Whilst Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig and Miss Rabbit are in full sized imitation costumes, the younger characters roll around on castors and are operated from behind by actors dressed all in black.

The story is loose but certainly gives a lot visually to keep the kids’ attention. There are songs and games to take part in, along with sensory elements including light versus dark and a great UV scene. The characters’ voices and subsequent sound are also well executed throughout.

Lizzie Burder is a good addition as the ‘human’ character that holds the show together. She has great presence and has a lovely demeanour with the mostly young crowd.

Packed with content and fast paced, this show is a toddler’s idea of heaven.

Peppa Pig: Best Day Ever is touring the UK and is currently booking until October 2020.
