Ready, set, sleigh! The Beacon Centre’s annual Santa Run returns for its 10th anniversary this year.

Taking place on Sunday 7 December 2025 at West Park, Wolverhampton, the much-loved 5K event will once again bring festive fun, community spirit, and a splash of Christmas cheer to the city, all in support of people living with sight loss across the West Midlands.

Now celebrating a decade of dashing Santas, the run welcomes everyone, families, friends, and even dogs, to walk, jog, skip, or sprint their way around the park.

This year’s event promises some extra festive magic, with a special guest appearance from the Elf on the Shelf ready for family selfies, and every finisher taking home a well-earned medal.

What makes the event truly special is the fundraising. At last year’s run, which took place in January after being rescheduled due to Storm Darragh, participants raised over £2,000 in sponsorship alone. As Beacon celebrates its 150th anniversary, the charity is hoping this year’s Santa Run will be its most successful yet, helping to continue vital support for people living with sight loss for many years to come.

There are some fantastic rewards on offer for fundraisers too. Anyone raising over £50 will receive an exclusive Beacon 150th Anniversary pin badge and a personalised thank you card. Those who raise over £150 will also receive a unique fundraising medal and a pair of Christmas running laces, as well as all the rewards above.

Dogs can join the fun as well, any four-legged friend that raises over £50 will receive a special Christmas Dog Stocking as a thank you.

The charity will also have an official photographer capturing the festive cheer and party atmosphere at the event. The photos will be available for free download following the event.

Beacon’s Fundraising Manager, Sarah Dovey said: “The 10th annual Santa Run is set to be our biggest and best yet. It’s a brilliant way to get into the festive spirit while supporting a cause that changes lives. We can’t wait to see everyone on the start line this December for a morning full of festive fun.”
