Bilston is preparing to welcome back its much-loved carnival this summer, with organisers promising a day packed with family entertainment, community spirit and a celebration of the town's rich heritage.

The carnival will take place on Saturday 4 July and marks the return of the event for the first time since 2008. Revived following strong support from local residents, the event forms part of Bilston's Pride in Place programme and wider plans to strengthen community pride and bring people together.

This year's carnival will embrace a 1960s theme, paying tribute to the decade when the event first began. Festivities will start with a colourful parade through Bilston town centre from 11am, before continuing at Hickman Park from midday until 5pm.

Organisers are inviting local businesses, community groups and organisations to take part in the parade, with prizes on offer for the most creative themed entries. Vehicle floats, walking groups and performers are all encouraged to get involved and help bring the streets of Bilston to life.

Visitors can look forward to a packed programme of entertainment throughout the day. The main stage will feature live performances, including Bluebird Belles, WolvesStock Revival, Bilston’s Got Talent and Dirty Rockin' Scoundrels. A dedicated children's arena will offer activities including magic shows, balloon modelling and interactive games.

The event will also include a funfair, inflatables, free face painting, food traders, community stalls and a bake-off competition, providing entertainment for all ages.
