As the festive season is right around the corner, so are many festive events, including local Christmas lights switch ons. Here are those that are taking place in the region this year.


Friday 14 November

Crankhall Lane, Friar Park -  from 4pm, lights switch on 7pm


Saturday 15 November

Blackheath: from 5pm, lights switch on at 6.30pm

Halesowen - lights switch on 5pm

With a large Christmas market, children’s rides and performances from local acts and entertainers.

Halesowen Library will be running a free craft session for children between 10am until 12pm and St John's Church also have lots of activities planned including their annual Christmas Fayre from 10am until 2pm, plus children's craft activity and tower tours every half hour.


Thursday 20 November

Smethwick - from 5pm, lights switch on 5.45pm  


Friday 21 November

Bilston, Church Street - from 4.30pm, lights switch on 6.30pm  

Bearwood - from 5pm, lights switch on 5.45pm 


Saturday 22 November

Brierley Hill - lights switch on 4pm

With live music on the outdoor stage, walkabout acts and fair ground rides on the Moor Centre. Inside Brierley Hill Market, there will be a free panto performance.

Stourbridge - lights switch on 5pm

High Street will have children’s rides, a market and stage and there will be live entertainment and choir performances on Crown Square. Heavy Beat Brass Band and Ski Sunday will be performing around town.

A giant snow globe will be in Ryemarket Square from 11am until 4pm for people to step into a magical snowscape.

Wednesbury - from 1pm, lights switch on 6pm

West Bromwich - from 3pm, lights switch on 5.15pm

Wolverhampton city centre, Queen Square - from 3pm, lights switch on 6pm

The fun starts at 3pm with a funfair, a giant snow globe, face painting, food and drink and much more. 

A popular children’s character will be on hand throughout the day to keep everyone entertained before performances from Bilston Operatic Company and highly acclaimed international swing and jazz vocalist Andrew Bourn, who will perform festive hits old and new. They will then be joined by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Craig Collingswood, and Father Christmas, to switch on the lights at 6pm.


Sunday 23 November

Sedgley - lights switch on 6.30pm

With a gift market, live music and performances on the Vicar Street stage and a free pantomime.


Thursday 27 November

Wednesfield, High Street - event 4.30pm to 7pm, lights switch on 6.30pm


Friday 28 November

Tettenhall, Upper Green - from 4.30pm, lights switch on 6.30pm

Tipton - from 4pm, lights switch on 6.15pm


Saturday 29 November

Langley - from 5pm, lights switch on 5.30pm


Friday 5 December

Oldbury - from 3pm, lights switch on 6pm


Saturday 6 December

Dudley - lights switch on 5pm

High Street will be closed from Vicar Street to Union Street for a Christmas gift market and there will be live music and entertainment as well as free panto performances hosted at Provision House.
