Due to popular demand Dudley Castle will once again be turned into an open-air cinema for four events this year - and tickets are now on sale and already selling fast!

The courtyard of the 11th century castle will be transformed into an open-air cinema for two nights in May, screening both Dirty Dancing and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Plus,  for two nights in August to show Beetlejuice and The Blair Witch Project.

First on the bill is the biographical celebration of Queen and their lead singer Freddie Mercury, Bohemian Rhapsody, which will be screened on Friday 17th May, while the following evening, Saturday 18th May, we’ll be showing the classic Dirty Dancing.

The visitor attraction will also once again host their popular horror classics, partnering with Flatpack, later this summer. A screening of Beetlejuice will take place on Friday 2nd August, while fans can watch The Blair Witch Project on Saturday 3rd August.

Zoo Manager, Matt Lewis, said: “Our previous open-air cinema nights have proved really popular over the last few years and we’re delighted to be able to screen extra films.

“We’re sure these two titles will prove to be huge hits, but we have limited availability, so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment.”

Both May films have a 12A certificate, while the August shows have a 15 certificate and doors open each evening at 7pm, with the films beginning at 9.30pm.

Refreshments will be available to purchase on the evening, but visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic, plus bring a chair or blanket too as the screenings will go ahead whatever the weather!

For the May shows adult tickets cost £15.50 or £10.50 for concessions, while the August films cost £12 for an adult or £10 for concessions.

Dudley Zoo are also doing a double deal for both August shows for £20, which can only be purchased by phone by calling 01384 215313.
