Runners, walkers, and fun-lovers alike are being urged to get ready for a truly colourful celebration as the Beacon Centre for the Blind gears up for its annual Family Fun Colour Run.
Taking place on Sunday 11 May at East Park in Wolverhampton, the event marks a major milestone for the sight loss charity as it celebrates an incredible 150 years of supporting people living with visual impairment.
Everyone is welcome to take part in this vibrant 5K event, where participants of all ages and abilities will make their way through 14 dazzling colour stations, being showered in a rainbow of brightly coloured powder.
Every participant will receive a new Colour Run medal, and optional bundle tickets are also available, including a specially designed event T-shirt and colour powder packs to really get into the spirit of things. There will also be a professional photographer there on the day capturing the event who will be offering free downloads for all attendees.
Sarah Dovey, Fundraising Manager at the Beacon Centre, said: “Our Family Fun Colour Run is one of the most popular and joyful events in our calendar, and it feels extra special to be holding it during our 150th anniversary year. We’re so thankful for the amazing support we receive – it’s thanks to our wonderful community that we’re able to continue helping people live well with sight loss.”
This year, there are special rewards up for grabs for those who fundraise as part of the event:
Raise £50+ and receive a limited-edition 150th Anniversary Pin Badge and a pair of colourful running laces
Raise £150+ and you’ll also get a Beacon trolley token and a fundraising sponsorship medal
Raise £250+ and all of the above is yours, plus a personalised running T-shirt to wear with pride
All proceeds go directly towards supporting Beacon’s vital work across the region.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for children, with extra goodies like sunglasses, powder packs and bright sun visors also available to purchase.
