A celebration of creativity will take over Walsall town centre this week as MakerFest returns with a packed programme of live entertainment, hands-on activities and family-friendly fun.

Taking place on Saturday 26 September from 12pm to 4pm, the free festival is being produced by Walsall-based Bostin’ Creative in partnership with Walsall Council, bringing together local performers, artists, makers and food vendors for an afternoon of creativity across the town centre.

The festival will get underway with a vibrant opening celebration on The Crossing’s Street Stage, featuring performances from MISFITS Music’s Birmingham Drum Battery, Ultimate Bhangra, Impact Samba Collective, Brownhills Musical Theatre Company and Autin Dance Theatre’s spectacular Brimstone the Dragon.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors can enjoy a programme of live music, dance and performance from groups including Walsall Music Service, Walsall Academy of Dance, Voices of Hope Fostering Choir, Aldridge Musical Comedy Society and Bhangra Bounce with Sohan Kailey.

Walsall Town Hall will host The Table - Live!, where festivalgoers can relax with coffee, homemade cake and live music, while the Town Hall Takeover offers free drop-in creative workshops with plenty of opportunities to make and take home handmade creations.

Elsewhere, the Makers Market at The Crossing will showcase talented local creators selling unique handmade products, accompanied by poetry readings and live music on the Makers Stage. Visitors can also head to Darwall Street for MakerFest Mouthfuls, featuring a selection of street food vendors serving up festival treats.
