One of Walsall’s most vibrant celebrations of creativity is set to return this autumn, as MakerFest 2026 takes over the town centre on Saturday 26 September.

The popular event will once again bring together makers, artists, performers, creators and independent businesses for a day of hands-on activities, live entertainment and creative experiences designed to showcase the talent and innovation found across the borough.

Walsall Council has announced that Bostin’ Creative Arts & Theatre C.I.C will be the lead delivery partner for this year’s festival. Working closely with the council, the organisation will help curate an exciting programme featuring local creatives, community groups, cultural organisations and businesses.

Emily Summers, Artistic Director of Bostin’ Creative, said: “We are proud to have been appointed as the lead delivery partner for MakerFest 2026. I grew up in Walsall and Bostin’ Creative is based here at the Walsall Hub. Since launching in 2018, we’ve celebrated the borough through film, creative projects and public events.

“We know Walsall is bursting with creativity, talent and imagination, and we’re excited to work with Walsall Council to create an event that truly reflects that spirit. We’re currently putting together a programme packed with incredible performers, interactive experiences, creative workshops and plenty of surprises for visitors of all ages.”

Further details about the event programme, participating makers, workshops and entertainment will be announced in the coming weeks.

Applications are now open for the returning Makers’ Market, with opportunities available for artists, crafters, designers, food producers, tech creatives and other independent makers. Organisers are also inviting community groups, performers, choirs, storytellers, poets and workshop facilitators to get involved and help showcase the very best of Walsall.

Applications can be submitted online here, with the deadline set for 21 August 2026. Successful applicants will be notified during the week commencing 24 August.
