Organisers of the Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival have announced that this year's event will now take place from 16 to 25 October.

The popular event is traditionally held in July but has been moved to the autumn because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now in its 36th year, the festival features a programme of jazz, blues, swing and rhythm & blues, with events being staged in libraries, museums, shopping areas, public squares, cafes, bars, hotels and on canals.

In addition to its programme of live music, the 2020 edition of the festival features: free jitterbug and lindy hop dance sessions; harmonica, photography and ukulele workshops; a make & play cigar box guitar session; a sketch crawl; and a barbershop quartet - in a barbershop!

An exhibition of photography, talks, discussions and Q&A sessions also feature.
