A major new chapter for Bilston is on the horizon as the town's multi-million-pound market redevelopment moves closer to completion.

Traders have been given a first glimpse of the new-look market as work continues on the £8 million-plus transformation, which is expected to be completed in June 2026. The project will deliver a modern, weather-protected market space designed to attract more shoppers and boost the local economy.

The revamped market will feature improved access, upgraded stalls, modern toilet facilities, enhanced public spaces and a flexible events area, creating a more welcoming experience for both traders and visitors.

Market traders have welcomed the progress, saying the investment will help secure the future of one of the Black Country's best-known markets. Many are looking forward to returning to a purpose-built space after operating from temporary locations during the redevelopment works.

City leaders believe the scheme will play a key role in Bilston's wider regeneration, with further investment planned across the town centre to increase footfall and support local businesses.

Once complete, the redevelopment is expected to create a modern market fit for the future while preserving Bilston's long-standing reputation as one of the region's premier shopping destinations.
