A brand new Indian sports bar and grill has opened in Dudley's Gornal Wood.

Set on the old ground of The Bull’s Head on Himley Road, Tapri Bar and Grill is the new family-friendly sports bar serving authentic North Indian cuisine, and a large selection of drinks.

The new venue promises to be a popular destination amongst sports fans, with several TV screens and a large projector screen, there’ll be plenty of matches to enjoy.

Owners, Raj Patel and Jas Singh launched their first Tapri Bar and Grill in Sutton Coldfield towards the end of the first Covid 19 lockdown in 2021. The pair also own a number of coffee shops in Wolverhampton and Kettering, as well as pizza shops in Walsall and Coventry.

Raj, who is from Wolverhampton, said: “Our Sutton Coldfield restaurant is doing very well so we thought it was time to spread the love and pop up somewhere closer to home."

Jas added: “Like our Sutton venue, we will have a live kitchen, so our customers can see our talented chefs in action. We will be serving traditional Punjabi food - mixed grills, chicken tikka, lamb chops, seekh kebabs, lamb shank curry, as well as plenty of vegetarian options like lasooni paneer, saag and aloo gobi. There will be something for everyone.”

The pair enlisted Wolverhampton-based Interior Design firm, Ivy Seven Designs, to help transform the old pub.

The new-look venue is now a stylish, modern bar and grill with room for 80 diners downstairs, whilst upstairs has been transformed into a function room available for hire for up to 40 people.

Tapri Bar and Grill is open from 4pm to 11pm on Monday to Friday, 12pm to 11pm on Saturdays, and 12pm to 9.30pm on Sundays. For more information visit tapribargrill.co.uk.
