American fried chicken chain Popeyes is set to open its first Wolverhampton restaurant this week, with free food and exclusive merchandise up for grabs for early arrivals.

The new restaurant will officially open at 11am on Friday 30 October at 25 - 26 Dudley Street in Wolverhampton city centre, bringing the brand’s Louisiana-inspired menu to the city.

To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers will receive a free Chicken Sandwich, while the first 50 people in the queue will also be given exclusive Popeyes merchandise. The first three customers through the doors will win free Chicken Sandwiches for an entire year.

The new city-centre restaurant will offer dine-in and takeaway options, serving a range of popular menu items including the signature Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders and Chicken Wraps.

Popeyes is known for its Louisiana-style fried chicken, with chicken marinated for 12 hours in the brand’s seasoning before being hand-breaded and battered to create its signature crunchy coating.

Tom Crowley, CEO of Popeyes UK, said the company was excited to welcome the Wolverhampton community and bring its distinctive flavours and hospitality to the city.

The opening marks the brand’s latest expansion in the West Midlands, where it already has restaurants in locations including Wednesbury, Merry Hill and Birmingham.
