Pub company Stonegate has announced that Yates in Wolverhampton is to close and undergo a £600,000 revamp, reopening as the popular bar chain Slug & Lettuce later this year.
The company which owns both chains, has decided to make a major investment into the bar and nightclub in Wolverhampton's Queen Square. Stonegate also operates a Slug & Lettuce in Birmingham city centre, which has proved popular, and has decided to extend the brand.
Slug & Lettuce offers an extensive range of world wines, beers and spirits, as well as range of 2-for-1 cocktails. They also serve food including quick snacks, breakfasts, nibbles or full-on three-course meals.
The pub company confirmed the plans for the venue but said full details surrounding the switch had yet to be finalised.
