Food lovers are set for a summer treat as Smithgate Social, a brand-new community event for Wolverhampton city centre, brings together street food, live entertainment, art and family-friendly activities this August.

Taking place in Market Square on Friday 14 August, the free event will celebrate creativity, culture and community as part of the vision for the city's major Smithgate regeneration project. Visitors can enjoy street food from Bite Street, live music and DJ sets, children's craft activities and the chance to see local artists and young people transform sections of the Smithgate hoarding into a large-scale piece of public artwork.

Organisers say Smithgate Social is designed to bring people together while giving residents an opportunity to help shape the future identity of the Smithgate neighbourhood, which is set to become a major new residential and leisure destination in the city centre.
