Summer Lates - Black Country Living Museum
BCLM are extending their opening hours to 8pm every Friday in August to give you more time to immerse yourself in 300 years of Black Country history!
Discover a different decade each week, with this Friday's penultimate summer late focusing on the 1950s.
It's time to shake, rattle and roll as times are achanging in the Black Country! Get active on the dance floor with an energetic dance lesson from All About Swing. Enjoy lots of live music with the Superskas, an authentic eight-piece Ska band with years of live experience, and the Miss Fortunes a retro trio. Experience the rise of the youth movement with an exciting ‘Back on 10’ performance outside the Limelight Cinema from Black Country Touring.

An Evening of Queen - Wolverhampton Racecourse
A dazzling collection of performers from London's West End, including former stars from the smash hit musical We Will Rock You, will come together to present an incredible tribute to one of the world's great rock bands in a one-night spectacular outdoor concert.
Expect to hear all the classics - Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, We Will Rock You, Killer Queen, Tie Your Mother Down, We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Radio Ga Ga, I Want It All, Don't Stop Me Now and many many more timeless Queen anthems.

Historic Heroes - Black Country Living Museum
Uncover inspiring stories and follow in the footsteps of Black Country heroes.
Enjoy the delights of traditional family fun and playtime in the last century, banish boredom with traditional street games including hopscotch and skipping. Take up the challenge to see how long you can keep the hoop rolling in the hoop and stick game and test your skill with a cup and ball and the whip and top.

International Festival of Glass - Stourbridge Glass Quarter
For the duration of the Bank Holiday Weekend, Red House Glass Cone will be hosting the International Festival of Glass, celebrating the skill and innovation of makers both local and international.
This year’s theme - explored through technology, science, art and imagination - is Placemaking, a design approach that encourages people to participate and develops a sense of belonging.

The Comedy of Errors - Whightwick Manor
Folksy Theatre presents Shakespeare's most famous comedies, 'The Comedy Of Errors'. Filled with Folksy's wonderful live music, audience interaction and downright silliness!
After being separated from their twins in a shipwreck, Antipholus and his slave Dromio go to Ephesus to find them. The other set of twins live in Ephesus, and the new arrivals cause a series of hilarious mistaken identity.
Bring along you picnics, blankets and folding chairs to enjoy this wonderful open-air performance.

Inflatable Bank Holiday Fun Day - Perton Park Golf Club
For just £5 per person visitors to Perton Park Golf Club can enjoy: softplay area, dinosaur castle, pink adult castle, superhero combi, pink fun run, balloons assault course, jungle mega slide, gladiator duel, football darts, football shootout, dash and grab.
Food will be on sale on the day and the bar open throughout the event.

Insomnia returns to the NEC for another four-day games-fest this August bank holiday, bringing together e-players from across the country and beyond and welcoming all levels and ages.

Dragon Slayer - Warwick Castle
Following a hugely popular run last year, Dragon Slayer is back for 2019, with this Bank Holiday weekend marking the final performances of the year.
Performances feature displays of fearless horseback fire-jousting, perilous stunt riding and a ‘dazzling’ confrontation between Guy - a heroic figure likened to Robin Hood and Saint George - and his nemesis, the fire-breathing dragon.
Unique to the Midlands, Dragon Slayer’s finale features a projection canvas measuring 31 metres by 80 metres and lit with 150,000 lumens of light - the equivalent to more than 500 house lightbulbs.
For those wishing to experience even more medieval merriment, the venue also offers a hog roast or period-themed banquet to accompany the show.

Unicorn Rides - Arley Arboretum
Back again by huge popular demand! Join the unicorn themed pony rides through the enchanted woodland in the grounds of the beautiful Arley Arboretum, and tuck in to Unicorn Treats at the Unicorn Bar!
This activity will suit children from the age of 3 – 12 (depending on size and height of the child), all riding children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult.

Shrewsbury Folk Festival - West Midland Showground
A highlight of any folk fan’s calendar, this four-day fest brings together centuries of musical tradition in one picturesque setting.
Take along the whole family for dance and workshops as well as live music.
Line-up includes: Kate Rusby, Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders ft the Hi Riders Soul Revue, Oysterband, Eddi Reader, Martyn Joseph, Skerryvore, Faustus, Martin Barre, Steve Knightley, Mankala, Blair Dunlop (pictured), Grace Petrie and Jiggy.

Lichfield Food Festival
The 2019 Lichfield Food Festival Market is set to be the biggest yet with three days to showcase over 320 specialist artisan food and drink traders. From Prosecco to Pies, Tipples to Truffles, Chutneys to Charcuterie, Towering Burgers to Traybakes, from Gin tasting to Gluten-free indulgences, Vegan to Vietenamese, the festival has everything every visitor could wish for!
