Walsall’s world-famous saddlery industry will take centre stage later this month as a free event showcases the skills, craftsmanship and career opportunities that continue to shape the sector.
Taking place at Walsall Town Hall on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October, Walsall Expo 2026 will bring together businesses, craftspeople and industry professionals for a celebration of the town’s rich leatherworking heritage.
Organised by The Society of Master Saddlers, the event will be held under the banner The Home of British Saddlery and aims to highlight both the traditions and future of an industry for which Walsall is internationally recognised.
Visitors will be able to learn more about the wide range of skills involved in saddlery and leathercraft, including saddle making, leatherworking, pattern cutting, stitching, design and manufacturing. The Expo will also shine a spotlight on the business, retail and sales roles that help support the industry.
Schools, colleges, careers advisers, parents and young people are being encouraged to attend, with opportunities to meet employers, watch skilled craftspeople at work and explore potential career paths.
