Hundreds of free activities, experiences and healthy meals will be available to children and young people across Wolverhampton this summer as bookings open for the city's annual Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

Delivered under the Yo! Wolves banner, the initiative offers a wide range of activities for eligible children and young people throughout the school summer holidays, helping families access fun, enriching experiences while ensuring participants receive a nutritious meal at every session.

The programme is funded by the Department for Education and delivered through a network of community organisations, schools and activity providers across the city. Activities range from sports camps and outdoor adventures to arts and crafts, music, drama, gaming and creative workshops, giving children plenty of opportunities to stay active, learn new skills and socialise during the break.

Children attending the sessions can expect at least four hours of activities each day, alongside a healthy meal. The scheme is primarily available to school-aged children receiving benefits-related free school meals, but places are also available for some young people with additional needs, SEND provision and other eligible groups.

Families can browse and book activities through the Yo! Wolves platform, where a variety of providers are offering everything from multi-sports sessions and creative arts projects to specialist workshops and enrichment experiences.

City of Wolverhampton Council says the programme is designed not only to tackle holiday hunger but also to help children remain active, engaged and connected throughout the summer months. Previous programmes have supported thousands of young people across the city, providing safe environments where they can make friends, develop confidence and enjoy new experiences.

With bookings now live, families are being encouraged to check eligibility and secure places early as demand for many activities is expected to be high. Bookings are now open at yowolves.co.uk/events
