Following on from July's family camping event, the Museum will be utilising its 19 acre setting and exploring the great outdoors!

Join in activities including, but not limited to:

  • Bug hunts
  • Animal trails
  • Forest school
  • Tree identification
  • Make your own woodland critter
  • Pond dipping

Bygone Buildings

Week Two – Monday 29th July – Friday 2nd August & Week Five – Monday 19th – Friday 23rd August:

Celebrate the range of historical buildings by joining in fun activities including:

  • Lego construction
  • Brickmaking
  • Building in Art competition
  • Build a Tudor House
  • construction trails

…. and more

Historical Hygiene

Week Three – Monday 5th – Friday 9th August & Week Six – Monday 26th – Friday 30th August

Take a step back in time and investigate how people lived (and smelled!) hundreds of years ago!

Join in with :

  • Soap making in our Tudor Town House
  • Victorian washing displays
  • Privies of the past trails
  • Making nosegays
  • The differences between rich and poor hygiene in bygone times

… and more.

As well as all this, there will also be regular train rides on the miniature railway (Tues-Thurs) and pony rides (on selected days and times).
