Organisers of Worcester Festival have announced that this year's event will take place online from 15 to 31 August.

The 17-day event will feature: a family prize quiz trail, taking audiences on a scout around Worcester to answer questions and be in with a chance of winning a 'fabulous' prize; a cake decorating workshop with the Sugar Clouds & Crumbs (in association with Cookmate, Worcester); 'fun and historic activities' from Worcester Cathedral; and The Canal & River Trust Plastic Challenge, which aims to clear the city’s river and canal banks. There will also be an opportunity to recreate some of the designs from festival favourites The Funky Face Painters.

The festival will also host some socially distanced events across the city. These include the Crowngate Percy Trail, where participants can win a prize by finding Percy the Peacock's 'cheeky face' hidden in Crowngate shop windows.

Battle of Worcester Walks, meanwhile, will visit historic and important sites of the last battle of the English Civil War, while a Secret Sweet tasting at Mr Simms Sweet Shoppe is sure to prove popular.

Other events in the festival programme include: virtual zumba, dance and taekwondo sessions; singing and puppetry workshops for children; A Welcome View exhibition at Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum; and a specially recorded concert with 'local legend' Blobbie Williams.
