Giffords Circus return to Sudeley Castle as part of their 25th anniversary tour
This year celebrating their 25th anniversary, Giffords Circus return to Sudeley Castle with brand-new offering Laguna Bay, directed by Cal McCrystal. The circus, described as a national treasure in the UK, is renowned for producing a show worthy of London’s West End but in the green fields of the Cotswolds and beyond.
Set in the ‘buoyant and sunny era’ of 1950s America, the show features a cast of top-rated acrobats, magicians, musicians and clowns.
Giffords Circus first visited Sudeley Castle in 2014 with Greek tragedy ‘The Thunders’ and had such a warm reception they have returned every year. Sudeley Castle is situated in the historic town of Winchcombe, in a bowl-shaped valley surrounded by rolling Cotswold hills. The Castle’s 1,200 acre estate is certainly one of the most beautiful grounds that the circus visit every year. When they arrive each spring, they nestle the tent and wagons next to the ancient horse-chestnut trees with their white candle-like blooms, whilst buzzards ‘mew’ overhead and frothy cow-parsley lines the country lanes.
