Joule's Brewery have taken over the old Bistrot Pierre site in Birmingham.
Waterside Tap, which officially opened on Gas Street last week, is nestled right on the iconic canals - one of the city's most picturesque locations.
The pub are currently offering drinks only whilst the kitchen is getting prepped for service, but by November they will be introducing a full menu including bar snacks, lunch, a la carte, and a Sunday roast.
Commenting on the opening, landlord and landlady, George and Tori, who also run The White Horse and Henry Tudor Inn in Shrewsbury said: “I know what you’re thinking. Why does this boozer look like a bistro? Well, let us explain…
"By order of Joule’s Brewery, this establishment has just joined the Joule’s family. But before we roll up our sleeves and give it the full Joule’s treatment - flagstone floors, reclaimed oak, copper fittings, a crackling fire, and more old fashioned charm than a barber in a bowler hat - we’re settling in, getting to know the locals, and pouring a few pints under the current décor.
"Yes, that’s right… for now, we’ll be serving proper pub ale and pub food in surroundings that might still whisper “bonjour” rather than “cheers”, but consider it part of our charm (and part of the plan).
"Over the next year, we’ll be taking the time to get to know our new stomping ground, the locals, and what makes this corner of the world tick. Then come January 2027, we’ll be closing our doors temporarily for a full-scale, all singing, all dancing Joule’s refurb… a proper transformation from Bistro to Brewery Tap House!
"So for now pull up a stool, grab a pint, and join us on the cobbled road from bistro to boozer, and by Joule’s it will be good!"
