Kray Treadwell, the renowned Young Michelin Chef of the Year, has made an exciting announcement regarding the culinary direction of his restaurant, 670 Grams.
Following the introduction of a more relaxed Sunday lunch menu and a growing disenchantment with the conventional "tasting menu" format, Treadwell is preparing to unveil a fresh, informal sharing-style menu in January 2024.
This innovative menu will revolve around an array of small plates, featuring items such as a flatbread with crab with fermented crispy chilli and garlic butter, enticing snacks like pineapple and char sui, tantalising meat and fish plates, including beef tartare with an oyster emulsion, pickle, mustard and burnt potato skins; wagyu rib with KT pickle and BBQ; cured monkfish with date and tomato water; and shrimp with kimchi and carrot, along with a diverse selection of vegetarian dishes, including BBQ courgette, harissa, and ash.
Complementing these offerings are an assortment of side options, such as beef fat potatoes with smoked vinegar, mayan gold roasted onions in beef garum, and an amelia dressed tomato with wasabi and evoo. To round off the culinary experience, guests can indulge in a choice of sumptuous desserts, including the miso caramel tart and fig cake.
670 Grams, named in honor of Treadwell's daughter's weight at birth, who arrived prematurely, first opened its doors in the midst of the pandemic in August 2020. The restaurant was conceived with the noble mission of delivering fine dining experiences at accessible prices. With an impressive culinary background that encompasses roles at esteemed establishments like the Hand & Flowers, Purnell's, and The Man Behind The Curtain, Kray has dedicated the past twelve years to crafting and serving tasting menus.
Until the end of the year, 670 Grams will continue to offer its signature tasting style "In and Out" and Dinner menus from Wednesday to Saturday, along with its popular Sunday Roast menu. The eagerly awaited small plates menu will make its debut in January 2024.
