Lapworth Museum of Geology has been named the best ‘hidden gem’ in the Birmingham area.

The honour has been attained by the venue as a result of research conducted by tour operator software provider Bókun, which is part of the Tripadvisor family. The company examined over 1,000 destinations using Tripadvisor reviews containing the phrase ‘hidden gem’.

Other Birmingham venues to feature on the list include Soho House, Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Coffin Works and the Back-to-Backs. The research also revealed that Birmingham and London are the best UK cities in which to find hidden gems, and that England is home to the most hidden-gem locations worldwide.
