Pizza Pilgrims is set to make its entrance into the West Midlands with the opening of its very first Birmingham pizzeria, bringing Neapolitan flavour and joy to the heart of Grand Central.
Opening on Monday 3 November, the new 195m² site marks an exciting new chapter for Pizza Pilgrims, setting up shop in one of the UK’s liveliest destinations.
With 114 seats, a custom-designed Stretch Ape banquet seating and interior details are designed to transport you to bustling Napoli, giving the space Pizza Pilgrims signature Italian energy. Designed for lingering lunches, on-the-go bites, and everything in between - it’s the ultimate slice-and-spritz stop in the heart of the city.
This is Pizza Pilgrims' first ever Birmingham pizzeria – its high-profile Grand Central location brings Pizza Pilgrims’ legendary 72-hour double-fermented dough to a whole new audience – whether you’re grabbing a pizza between trains, shopping at the Bullring or settling in for the full Neapolitan experience. Think pillowy-crusted Margheritas, and the fan-favourite Double Pepperoni & Spicy Honey, alongside quirky classics like the Carbonara pizza (yes, with real spaghetti) and the oozy, outrageous 8 Cheese pizza.
Alongside seasoned classics, expect a flavour-packed line-up of dishes that spotlight the unbeatable ingredients of Napoli. The Amalfi Coast pizza sets the standard with Cetaran DOP anchovies, Piennolo tomatoes, Fior di Latte mozzarella, olives, capers, and basil. There’s also the indulgent Principessa pizza, stacked with Prosciutto di Parma DOP, Piennolo di Vesuvio DOP tomatoes, 24-month Parmigiano-Reggiano DOP, Mozzarella di Bufala DOP, and extra virgin olive oil. The Burrata & Pesto pizza delivers creamy Puglian burrata, Genovese basil pesto, and sweet Piennolo tomatoes.
As always, Pizza Pilgrims' focus remains on using high-quality ingredients and staying true to Naples, with ‘00’ flour from the Caputo mill, DOP San Marzano tomatoes, and Campanian Fior di Latte mozzarella all sourced directly from Italy. Plus, Birmingham guests can support Pizza Pilgrims’ ongoing charity work via their ‘Dip To Donate’ initiative, which donates 5p from every crust dipper sold to the Pizza Pilgrims charity fund supporting the Make A Wish foundation.
The Birmingham pizzeria will create 25 positions, including both front-of-house and back-of-house roles. The team will be led by local legend Danny Johnson, General Manager, who has just under 20 years strong hospitality experience.
Pizza Pilgrims Birmingham opens its doors on Monday 3 November at Unit MK8, Grand Central, Stephenson Place, Birmingham B2 4BQ. The pizzeria will be open seven days a week, serving serious Neapolitan pizza joy! Sign up to receive all the latest pizza news here.
