The City of Birmingham Choir will be paying a visit to Tewkesbury Abbey this summer to perform a choral concert with brass and organ accompaniment.
Featuring a programme including music by, among others, John Rutter, William Walton and Henry Purcell, the concert, entitled Blaze Of Glory, takes place at the Abbey on Saturday 6 June.
Accompanying the Choir, which is conducted by Adrian Lucas, is Andrew Lumsden on the Abbey's organ, and a Brass ensemble.
The City of Birmingham Choir was founded in 1921, and it has since been a stalwart of Birmingham’s musical life, performing a wide range of classical and modern music in Birmingham Town Hall and Symphony Hall, often with the CBSO. Previous conductors have included Sir David Willcocks and Christopher Robinson CBE.
