Wet Wet Wet have announced that they will be performing across the UK in 2027 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their iconic debut album Popped In Souled Out, including three Midlands' dates.
Released in 1987, Popped In Souled Out was the album that introduced Wet Wet Wet to not only a national audience, but a global one too. It reached No.1 on the UK Albums Chart and featured the hit singles “Wishing I Was Lucky”, “Sweet Little Mystery”, “Angel Eyes” and “Temptation”. The record went multi-platinum in the UK and established the band as one of the key British acts of the late 1980s, whilst breaking into the Billboard Charts in the USA.
Having spent over 70 weeks on the UK albums chart, Wet Wet Wet’s debut album laid the groundwork for continued success, with the band enjoying many further hit albums and singles, including the number 1’s “With A Little Help From My Friends”, “Goodnight Girl” and “Love Is All Around”, their ubiquitous cover of The Troggs’ 1960s song.
The band will perform songs from Popped In Souled Out alongside a catalogue of beloved hits spanning their remarkable career. The show will celebrate both where it all began, as well as what followed.
The band today features founding member Graeme Clark, long-standing guitarist Graeme Duffin, and lead vocalist Kevin Simm. Together, they continue to perform the songs that first made their name while introducing them to new audiences.
Special guests on the 2027 Popped In Souled Out tour spread across selected dates will be Roachford, Nick Heyward, Rebecca Ferguson, Heather Small, Johnny Hates Jazz, The Christians and The South.
Wet Wet Wet will perform at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry on Monday 15 February 2027; Victoria Hall, Stoke on Wednesday 17 February and Symphony Hall, Birmingham on Friday 15 October 2027.
