Shrewsbury Musical Theatre Company present an amateur staging of the multi award-winning jukebox musical which tells of the early life and rise to fame of acclaimed songwriter, Carole King.

Carole King was an ordinary girl with extraordinary talent long before she became the chart-topping music legend she is today. During her teenage years, she fought her way into the music industry and sold her first single, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, when she was only seventeen.

By the time she reached her twenties she had the husband of her dreams and a career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock ‘n’ roll, from Aretha Franklin to The Monkees, The Drifters, to The Shirelles. But it wasn’t until her personal life began to fall apart that she finally managed to find her true voice.

Beautiful brings the inspiring story of Carole's rise to stardom to the stage. Charting the ups and downs of her journey from being one half of a hit song writing team to becoming one of the biggest solo pop acts in history.

Featured classics include You've Got a Friend, One Fine Day, So Far Away, Take Good Care of My Baby, Up on the Roof, You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and Natural Woman.
