The much-loved Armed Forces Family Fun Day is set to return to Telford on Sunday 28 June, bringing a packed programme of free activities and entertainment for all ages as part of the national Armed Forces Day celebrations.
Taking place from 11am to 5pm at Broadoaks Playing Field in Donnington, the popular community event offers residents the opportunity to come together and show their support for the Armed Forces community – from currently serving personnel to veterans, service families and cadets.
Hosted by Telford & Wrekin Council’s Culture and Events Team, this year’s event promises even more exciting activities, including:
- Dinky Street pop-up play village
- Rawzone basketball sessions
- Emma’s Donkeys petting area
- Telford Gaming Bus
- Boardroom Gaming Café
- Nerf activities
- Roar Martial Arts demonstrations.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of walkabout entertainment, including The Wrong Brothers and mischievous roaming gnomes, alongside a range of unique local craft stalls such as Ollie’s ODD Creations, Wax & Wood, and Izzy & Jack’s.
A host of charities and organisations will also be on hand offering advice, support and engagement opportunities, including Shrewsbury & Telford NHS Trust, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Learn Telford, Community Resource, Marches Energy, and local rescue and wellbeing groups.
As always, the event will feature a strong Armed Forces presence, as well as returning favourites such as circus skills, historical activities, and a Civil War re-enactment display.
