Talking Birds will be celebrating the wonderful world of Lawn Bowls in their new outdoor show, Come Bowl With Me.
The piece has been commissioned for the Birmingham 2022 Festival and pays homage to the popular sport, which is being hosted in Leamington Spa as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
This hilarious outdoor performance invites audiences to join Lorna Bowles, Dwaine Hardball and Roger Rinkwell as they coach you through the gentle joys and fierce competition of this much-loved game. Tensions may rise in the Strictly Come Bowling arena, but who will be the player to raise the Glitter Bowl Trophy?
Derek Nisbet, Talkings Birds Co-Artistic Director, says: “We’re delighted to bring Come Bowl With Me to Coventry and Leamington Spa for the Birmingham 2022 Festival. Leamington is renowned for Lawn Bowls, and we were lucky enough to spend time with elite players as well as members of the local Bowls community when we were developing the show. It’s a great opportunity to introduce the sport to a new generation of potential participants, and to get them excited for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.”
