The stars of this year's magical family pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, have been revealed, promising laughs, adventure and spectacular 3D surprises when the show arrives at Telford International Centre this Christmas.

Produced by Shone Productions, the festive favourite will bring the classic story to life with stunning special effects, larger-than-life characters and an innovative 3D experience that will see a giant and other surprises leap from the stage and into the audience.

Pantomime favourites Ian Smith and Carl Dutfield return to Telford following a string of hugely successful productions, with Ian starring as the larger-than-life Dame Trott and Carl taking on the role of the unforgettable Carl the Cow. The duo, who are reuniting for their 12th year of working together, have become firm favourites with Telford audiences. 

Joining them is television actor and musician Scott Wright, best known for appearing in Coronation Street, Casualty, Emmerdale, Doctors and Shameless. His extensive stage and screen career adds further star quality to this year's cast.

Audiences will also be able to see Georgina Newton, who recently appeared in the latest series of BBC's The Apprentice. A graduate of the Italia Conti Academy, Georgina has built an impressive theatre career and returns to pantomime following performances in productions including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Peter Pan.

Also joining the cast is local performer Sally Cove, who takes on the role of Princess Jill. A graduate of The Wilkes Academy and The National Youth Theatre, Sally returns for her fourth Telford pantomime following appearances in Treasure Island, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Cinderella. Her varied career has included theatre tours, television work on BBC's Silent Witness, commercial campaigns and dance performances across the UK. Now Assistant Director of The Polar Express Telford, Sally is delighted to be back in her hometown for another festive season with Shone Productions.

Making his professional debut as Jack Trott will be recent Performance Preparation Academy graduate Ryan Rooth. Originally from Doncaster, Ryan has trained in musical theatre and is excited to step into the title role for his first professional pantomime season.

A key feature of this year's production will be its spectacular 3D second half, where every audience member will receive a pair of 3D glasses before returning to their seats after the interval. Families can expect an incredible 3D giant, a hilarious ghost gag and immersive moments where characters, creatures and magical effects appear to fly out into the auditorium.
