SHREWSBURY EASTER TRAIL

Twelve 1.5m high eggs have been hidden across Shrewsbury's town centre. Find them all and solve the Easter Riddle to be in with the chance of winning one of five £100 vouchers for a Shrewsbury business of your choice.

Pick up the Easter Trail postcard and map from many Shrewsbury town centre businesses, including Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, and Shrewsbury Library, or download the map.

Find the eggs at the following locations: The Darwin Centre, St Alkmund's Place, Shoplatch, Wyle Cop, St Julian Friars, Mardol, The Parade Shops, Victoria Quay, The Square, Shrewsbury Library, Shrewsbury Train Station and Abbey Foregate.

DRAGON EGG HUNT

The eagle eyed wardens at Hawkstone have recently spotted a rare clutch of dragon eggs in Dragon Woods. The eggs are due to hatch any day now with a host of new baby dragons.

But the troublesome trolls and pesky wood fairies have been up to no good again. They don't want to share Dragon Woods with lots of noisy dragons! So they have magicked the eggs out of Dragon Woods and hidden them all around the Follies, can you help find them before they hatch?

ALICE'S ADVENTURE TO WONDERLAND

Join Alice on her Adventures to Wonderland through a fully immersive production that takes place on the train, with you sitting at the heart of the show.

Journey with Alice down the rabbit hole, as she meets some new friends and some not-so-friendly characters. Enjoy the magical story and interactive song and dance before joining the Madhatter's tea party for some light ‘eat me, drink me’ refreshments.

PILOT TRAINING

Royal Air Force Museum Midlands are offering all future pilots aged four and over to train like a Second World War RAF pilot this Easter school break.

The ‘Scramble!’ mission will test your alertness and speed, dressing in flying gear as fast as you can in a race to the aircraft. ‘Firefighting’ training will require you to act fast and fight ‘fire’ with stirrup pumps and buckets and stop the incendiaries taking hold. Test your knowledge in ‘Aircraft Recognition’, you’re on the front line and must identify who is friend or foe and plot their location ready for the fighters to scramble. And finally, ‘Dawn Patrol’ will see the pilots in training complete a biplane mission over enemy lines…jump aboard and navigate the aircraft to the targets, but beware of incoming enemy fire.

Each budding young pilot will receive their own Pilot Passport to keep, and for every successfully completed mission your passport will be stamped. Once all four missions are complete, mini pilots will be rewarded with a pilot badge - you made it!

Pilot Training sessions will run from 10.00am each day. Participation in all four missions is £5.00 per child for the Pilot Passport and is suitable for families with children aged four and above. A family saver ticket costing £10 admits three children. Pilot Passports can be purchased on arrival at the Museum or when booking your arrival slot online.

FAIRY TALE EASTER

This Easter children who visit Park Hall Farm can take part in their Alice In Wonderland-themed egg hunt, meet Alice, chase the White Rabbit through the woods in the Queen of Hearts Woodland Trail, and cheer on your favourite bunny in the Easter Bunny race.

Admission includes entry to the Fairy Tale easter event, plus the farm's indoor and outdoor play areas, tractor rides, meet the animals, the trenches, planet rooms, and all the usual Park Hall fun.

EASTER AT BRITISH IRONWORK CENTRE

This Easter families can joinin The Ironworks Easter Egg Hunt, where they will help the Easter Bunny retrieve all the eggs left around the grounds from the cheeky chickens. Find as many eggs as you can for a chance to win a prize.

On Wed 5 April, little superheroes can join the Cosplay Mania, a brand new activity trail filled with superhero sculptures.

Meanwhile on Thurs 6 April, there will be an Easter bonnet parade and The Grace Church Historical Dancers will perform.

Spring into the Easter holiday at Black Country Living Museum.

Visitors can take a step back in time to discover how people of a bygone age would welcome-in the spring season.

The museum’s historic characters will be busily preparing for springtime, making puddings, buying clothes, and carrying out a good old-fashioned spring clean. 

And as the museum’s gardens begin to bloom, families can follow the activity trail and find out all about the on-site plants and what makes them so special.

SPRING STEAM GALA

The Severn Valley Railway’s (SVR) annual spring festival of steam locomotives returns for a three-day extravaganza.

Visitors will be able to hop on and off SVR’s 16-mile line, checking out VIP guests such as the GWR 4079 Pendennis Castle and GWR Small Prairie 4555. The valley’s resident steam fleet will also be available to enjoy.

EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA FAMILY FUN DAY

Wolverhampton Racecourse will host its first afmily fun raceday of the year this Easter.

Families can enjoy a host of free activities suitable for all ages, including a circus, face painting and bouncy castles, and best of all, it's free entry for kids. There will also be several exciting races to keep the adults entertained.

DRAGON EGG HUNT

Tamworth Castle will host an 'egg-stra- special egg hunt this Easter half term.

Ruby the Castle Dragon has hidden her eggs from the dastardly dragon hunter. She has been very clever and disguised them, but now she cannot find them.

Join in this fun hunt but don’t forget to record the egg locations on the quiz sheet – as you will hand in the sheet to receive a small prize. All in all a fun event and egg-citing way to explore the Castle.

15 YEARS OF THOMAS LAND

Throughout April Drayton Manor will have a month packed full of birthday celebrations with Thomas & Friends as they commemorate the 15th anniversary of Europe's only Thomas Land.

Thomas will be all dressed up for the party, with Thomas Land also decked out for the celebrations. Visitors can expect birthday party balcony shows, a Thomas & Friends character Easter hunt, street entertainment, and party games throughout the day.

Plus, there will be special screening of Thomas & Friends: The Mystery of Lookout Mountain, only on 1 and 2 April.
