Since taking the step to produce Wolverhampton’s annual pantomime in-house, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre is expanding its commitment to finding and utilising local talent and the latest opportunity is for young people to play younger versions of the prince and princess in this year’s pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.

The casting team are looking for young aspiring performers (playing age 7 and 14) who are keen to perform on The Grand theatre stage.

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre is committed to inclusive casting and strongly encourage actors of all ethnicities, races, and backgrounds to apply.

No previous experience necessary but you must have a strong passion for musical theatre and be able to sing and dance to a high standard.

To apply please send in a video with no more than one verse and a chorus of a song to casting@grandtheatre.co.uk by Monday 20 October. For larger files, it is recommended to email a link to the video from an online service such as Dropbox.

Auditions will be held in Wolverhampton during the week of October half term. Successful applicants will be invited to a workshop style audition with date and time confirmed by email.

Please note: This experience offers creative engagement through performance. As part of this opportunity, you will gain new skills, explore creativity and get to learn what it’s like to perform in professional production. Participation is on a voluntary, unpaid basis. You must be or look aged 7 or 14 and be available for a range of shows between the 29 November 2025 and 4 January 2026. Some of these shows include early mornings and daytime performances.

The principal cast is completed by Danny Beard as Carabosse, Debra Stephenson as Queen Bertha of Bilstonia, Zak Douglas as the Herald, Tam Ryan as Mickey and Ian Adams as Dame Mary Fortune.
