Worcester Theatres has announced a new collaboration with Speak Volumes Festival CIC.

Established in 2023, Speak Volumes Festival is a celebration of Worcester’s emerging, diverse, and vibrant arts scene. Focused on providing accessible creative opportunities to local artists, young adults, and disabled and neurodiverse people in the Worcestershire area, Speak Volumes Festival is ‘Worcester’s own bold and beloved student-made, new and emerging, disabled-led and inclusive arts festival’.

The partnership aims to offer dynamic and affordable workshops for all in the heart of Worcester city centre at Worcester Theatres historic venue Huntingdon Hall.

The Speak Volumes Festival workshops will take place in the Huntingdon Hall Café, which is wheelchair accessible, and will be running until November 2025. Founder of Speak Volumes Festival, Freddie Barker, will be running two workshops each week at the café at Huntingdon Hall, covering a wide range of creative activities such as papercraft, textile arts, creative writing, and hands-on crafts. The programme will also feature a fortnightly Zine-making club, offering participants a chance to create their own mini-magazines and share their stories.

Freddie Barker, founder of Speak Volumes Festival said, “We’re super excited to bring affordable year-round workshops to Worcester city centre. Speak Volumes Festival CIC is all about celebrating the incredible talent that exists here in Worcester. Our volunteers work hard to create opportunities for local artists and members of the community to connect and explore their creative potential.”

Lewis Mandall, Community Producer at Worcester Theatres said, “We are delighted to be the home for Speak Volumes Festival. Worcester Theatres are always looking for new ways to engage with local artists and organisations and this is a fantastic fit. Speak Volumes Festival will be a wonderful addition to the Worcester Theatres family, providing workshops that are both creative and community focused.”
