A landmark restoration project has been completed on the Jackfield and Coalport Memorial Footbridge, preserving one of the Borough's most distinctive river crossings while improving accessibility, safety and sustainability for years to come.

The programme of works has carefully restored the historic structure, the footway and improved the bridge's long-term resilience, ensuring it continues to serve residents, visitors and walkers while protecting its heritage value.

The improvements have created a more durable and attractive route between Jackfield and Coalport, supporting active travel and helping people enjoy the area's rich industrial history, local businesses and riverside environment.

The completion of the works marks another investment in the Borough's walking network and heritage assets, helping to preserve important community infrastructure while encouraging more people to travel actively and enjoy the natural and historic environment of the Ironbridge Gorge.
