The Buttermarket has announced that legendary indie band Inspiral Carpets will perform a full live show on Saturday 27 June.

A defining force of the iconic Madchester movement, Inspiral Carpets formed in Oldham in 1980 and quickly became one of the UK’s most influential alternative bands. With a catalogue packed full of era-defining tracks including This Is How It Feels, Dragging Me Down, Two Worlds Collide, She Comes in the Fall, Joe and Saturn 5, the band continues to captivate audiences across the country.

Renowned for their powerful live performances, Inspiral Carpets remain as compelling as ever on stage.

The announcement forms part of The Buttermarket’s expanding live music programme, which is placing a renewed emphasis on original artists in 2026.
