Telford & Wrekin Council is hosting its latest Access to Higher Education information event later this month to help people decide whether the university journey is right for them.
The free event on Friday 19 June, taking place from 10.30am - 12.30pm at Bishton Court on Ironmasters Way in Telford Town Centre, will highlight Learn Telford’s Access to Higher Education programmes – hosted by staff, current students and the Council’s Learn Telford team.
Anyone over 19 who is interested in progressing to Higher Education can find out how Access to HE courses, which start this September, can provide the perfect route to universities up and down the UK and how qualifications can help them secure a future career.
The event is the perfect opportunity to meet university representatives and explore progression options, speak to student finance about funding courses and ask questions and discover how an Access to Higher Education course can support the journey into higher education.
Staff from The Gateway at the University of Wolverhampton will also be attending to answer questions.
Access to HE Diplomas enable adults without traditional level 3 qualifications to progress to university and are a stepping stone to studying a degree. Anyone interested needs to hold a Level 2 or GCSE 4-9/A-C qualification in English.
Learn Telford currently offers two Access to HE courses in Health Science Professionals and Psychology and the event is an opportunity to find out more about what these pathways can lead to and the student finance options available.
Places must be booked in advance. You can register for the event here learntelford.ac.uk
