Brand-new town-wide festival, Ludlow History Festival, launches this year.
Running from 21–30 August 2026, the festival will celebrate Ludlow’s extraordinary heritage through an immersive programme of theatre, music, comedy, storytelling, talks, guided walks and hands-on activities - all set in the very places where history unfolded.
At Ludlow Assembly Rooms, festival highlights include a live performance of 1612 Underture by Eccentronic Research Council ft Maxine Peake, Rex Factor Live, The Rotundas in concert, a talk by Lally Macbeth, an in-conversation event with Lord Michael Heseltine, storytelling from Jason Buck, and more to be announced.
Specially curated guided walks will uncover hidden histories in Ludlow’s geology, streets, architecture and communities - offering fresh perspectives on familiar surroundings.
Following the closure of Ludlow Fringe, Ludlow History Festival steps forward to celebrate the stories, creativity and community that have shaped the town over centuries.

- A medieval village at Ludlow Castle
- A Vintage Car Day and live music at Ludlow Brewery
- A Regency Ball at Parish Church of St Laurence, Ludlow
