The RAF Museum is encouraging supporters to get active and raise funds for a good cause with the launch of its new Red Arrows Challenge.

Running from 1 August to 3 October, the challenge invites participants to walk, run or cycle a distance of their choice while raising money to support the RAF Museum’s work preserving and sharing the stories of the Royal Air Force.

Inspired by the world-famous Red Arrows display team, the fundraising initiative is open to all ages and abilities. Participants can complete their chosen distance wherever they are and at a pace that suits them, making it an accessible challenge for individuals, families and groups.

Everyone who completes the challenge will receive an exclusive limited-edition Red Arrows Challenge commemorative coin, while those who raise £50 or more will also receive a special Red Arrows thank-you pack.

The Red Arrows are among the world's most recognisable aerobatic display teams, famous for their precision flying, spectacular formations and distinctive red, white and blue vapour trails. Their displays showcase the skill, professionalism and teamwork of RAF personnel and continue to inspire audiences across the UK and beyond.

Sophie Wallace, Regular Giving Development Manager at the RAF Museum, said the challenge offers supporters a chance to set a personal goal while helping preserve the history and heritage of the RAF.

She said: "Whether you're completing your first 5km or taking on a cycling challenge, every mile completed and every pound raised will help ensure the extraordinary stories of the Royal Air Force continue to inspire future generations."

Participants will receive fundraising guidance and support throughout the challenge, along with access to a virtual leaderboard where they can track their progress and compare distances with fellow entrants.

There are also prizes up for grabs, including tickets to the RAF Air Show in June 2027 for the top adult and family fundraisers, with winners also receiving the opportunity to meet members of the Red Arrows team. Additional prizes include Red Arrows goody bags for the participant covering the greatest distance and a randomly selected entrant.

Entry costs £22 for adults, £11 for children and £16.50 for members of the Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists and cadets.
