A yoga and wellbeing centre in Shrewsbury has been granted over £14,000 to offer a 12-month programme of sessions across the region for people living and recovering from cancer.
Lingen Davies has awarded Jenna Blair Yoga with funding for a third year in a row so the specialised Yoga for Cancer classes can continue to support people living with cancer.
The gentle, welcoming yoga sessions are free of charge and run four times a week in three locations including at Jenna Blair Yoga in Belle Vue as well as Church Stretton and now in Newtown, Powys.
Jenna Blair, Founder and Director of the wellbeing centre said: “The Yoga for Cancer sessions have become hugely important here at Jenna Blair Yoga, offering a space for people to move mindfully, feel supported and connect with others in a safe and calm environment. They really are very special.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Lingen Davies for enabling us to continue this important service and look forward to being there for people who are facing a difficult time for the next year.”
In addition to the generous funding from Lingen Davies, the wellbeing centre has also received £500 from Supreme Homecare to host free gentle yoga for cancer classes for 16–24-year-olds. The six-week course begins on Wednesday 20 May, 6-7pm, and is suitable for beginners.
