Telford & Wrekin Council and Krazy Races have announced that Telford Krazy Races will return to Telford Town Park on Sunday 11 July 2027, following the huge success of the event's first visit to the town earlier this year.
The inaugural event welcomed around 7,000 spectators and 26 teams to Telford Town Park for a day of gravity-powered racing, outrageous costumes and creative homemade karts. Team places sold out months before race day, and the event raised more than £10,000 for local good causes, including over £1,000 for headline charity Lingen Davies Cancer Support's Sunflower Appeal.
With organisers expecting spaces to disappear just as quickly for 2027, applications are now open to local businesses, schools, colleges, community groups, charities, families and groups of friends.
Teams will once again design and build their own handcrafted soapbox karts before taking on a downhill course full of twists, turns, chicanes and obstacles. Awards will be up for grabs across categories including Fastest Kart, Best Design, Best Performance and the Public Vote, because at Krazy Races, speed isn't everything.
Team spaces for Telford Krazy Races 2027 are open now on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses, schools, colleges, community groups, charities, families and groups of friends are all encouraged to enter. To enter a team or enquire about sponsorship, visit: krazyraces.co.uk
