Kerry Ellis, widely regarded as the undisputed Queen of the West End, is returning with a brand-new UK tour celebrating her lifelong love of rock music, and she will be stopping off in Shrewsbury next autumn for a special performance at The Buttermarket.

Kerry, who famously originated the role of Elphaba in the West End production of Wicked, has become one of the most celebrated performers in both the West End and on Broadway. Her extraordinary voice caught the attention of Sir Brian May, who described her as having “the most beautiful voice in Britain”, leading him to cast her in Queen’s smash-hit musical We Will Rock You.

Since first meeting in 2002, Ellis and May have enjoyed a remarkable creative partnership, releasing three albums together and touring internationally to critical acclaim.

Rock anthems have been at the heart of Kerry’s musical inspiration, and in her new show, Rock Anthems, she will pay tribute to the artists and songs that shaped her life and career. Audiences can expect powerhouse renditions of classics from Queen, Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, and other rock legends, performed with Ellis’s signature vocal firepower.

Kerry Ellis plays The Buttermarket on Sunday 15 November 2026. Tickets are on sale now.
