Dawley Town Hall has been a community venue since 1873 when it was originally a Temperance Hall. Throughout it’s history, it has been utilised for many different uses. These include a picture-house, a theatre, stage school, Council Chambers and even a warehouse.

Over recent years, the town hall has received significant investment in order to keep it available for community use, including refurbishments, new window blinds, new kitchen facilities, construction of a link between the town hall and Dawley Town Hall Annex, upgrading the lighting from fluorescent to LED’s, heating upgrades, and more recently, installation of solar panels on the south-facing side of the roof.

Today, Dawley Town Hall is available to hire with it’s large hall-space, modern kitchen facilities and even a boardroom.

Dawley Town Hall has also been in the spotlight recently for featuring in an episode of BBC’s The Apprentice, and also for welcoming His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, where a plaque was unveiled by His Royal Highness to commemorate Dawley Town Hall’s 150th Anniversary.
