From ancient plainsong to brand-new commissions, the ever-excellent Lichfield Cathedral Choir is much admired for its wide-ranging repertoire, including of course its selection of Christmas music.  This latest candlelit offering begins with a performance of Ceremony Of Carols - Benjamin Britten’s 11-movement work featuring a mix of poems and anonymous medieval texts - and brings together music and readings old and new ‘to reflect on the meaning of Christmas and fill you with festive cheer’.
