Presented against the backdrop of Stoke-on-Trent’s industrial heritage, the free-to-attend British Ceramics Biennal is a celebration of the potential of clay in terms of storytelling, playfulness and risk-taking.
The festival comprises six weeks of exhibitions, installations and events, which not only spotlight the UK’s leading ceramicists but also introduce work by international artists and fresh new talent.
The main venue is the city’s All Saints Church, where visitors can check out several exhibitions & displays. They can also have a go at making ceramics themselves in the Tactile Project Space... Other venues presenting work include Stoke’s Potteries Museum & Art Gallery (showing Embodiments Of Memory by Osman Yousefzada) and AirSpace Gallery (Social Substance by William Cobbing).
Further afield, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Brampton Museum is hosting Obsolescence And Renewal by Neil Brownsword.
