As the festive season is right around the corner, so are many festive events, including local Christmas lights switch ons. Here are those that are taking place in the region this year.


THURSDAY 16 NOVEMBER

Trentham Shopping Village: 6.30 - 8.30pm

Immerse yourself in festive wonder with discounts and offers oin the Shopping Village. With live music and much more.


FRIDAY 17 NOVEMBER

Leek: 6 - 9pm

There will be plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy, including paying a visit to Santa in his grotto and having a browse of the indoor Butter & Trestle Market and the outdoor market stalls.There will also be children's rides, live music and food and drink.


SATURDAY 18 NOVEMBER

Cheadle: 2 - 6pm (Switch-on 5pm)

Stafford Market Square: 3 - 6pm (Switch-on 5pm)

Stalls, street theatre, traditional fair rides, Christmas shopping events and a special appearance by Father Christmas himself at the Ancient High House will take place across the day.

Stars of this year’s Stafford Gatehouse Beauty and the Beast pantomime will keep the crowd entertained on the main stage and there will also be a DJ and live music acts from 3pm onwards, including The Living Spring Choir from the Harvest Centre, Stafford and local legends, the Cartoon Kings.

The Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Andy Cooper, and Santa himself will arrive for 5pm for the traditional countdown, followed by a fireworks display. 


SATURDAY 25 NOVEMBER

Biddulph: 4.30 - 7pm (Switch-on 6pm)

With entertainment and a Christmas Market from 4.30pm, the Christmas Lights will be turned on by the Mayor and his helpers at 6pm followed by Santa arriving on his sleigh straight after

Emma Bridgewater Factory, Stoke-on-Trent: 1 - 4.15pm (Switch-on 4.15pm)

Join the festivities in the Emma Bridgewater Factory courtyard from 1pm, with carols, the chance to decorate a lantern and join the parade, screen print a Christmas pattern enjoy mulled wine, mince pies and take advantage of special offers too. The ginormous Factory Christmas tree will be lit up at 4.15pm.


SUNDAY 26 NOVEMBER

Burton, Market Place: 1 - 5.30pm (Switch-on 5.30pm)

The fun will get underway at 1pm with Rangemore School Choir and conclude at 5.30pm with fireworks. A fun fair will also be running until late that evening.

There will be a wide range of family entertainment on the main stage, including live music, magic and fun and games. The afternoon also sees a host of food and drink stalls, a fair and a fireworks display. The Market Hall will also be open, hosting a festive market alongside regular market traders.

Tamworth Castle Grounds: 2 - 6pm (Switch-on 5pm)

This year the switch on will take place at the Holloway end of the Castle Grounds with the fun begins at 2pm with food and drink stalls, fairground rides and walkabout characters.

Entertainment this year features Tamworth Pantomime, elves from The Father Christmas Show, Bryan Brindley, Tamworth Voices plus much more.

The Christmas Lights Switch On will take place at 5pm. Immediately followed by New Urban Era with a Nutcracker themed community showreel projection on the castle from, involving the D-Day Darlings and Tamworth Voices choir; Mercian Singers, and Just Perform Dance and Theatre School.

A new family friendly film will also be projected onto the castle for all to enjoy from 5.30pm - 6pm
