Stone's Crown Wharf Theatre are celebrating one year since they opened their doors to the public.
Since the sell-out success of their debut in-house production of Shakespeare in Love on 8 November 2024, the theatre has gone from strength to strength. In just twelve months, over 10,500 seats have been filled, proving that the people of Stone and beyond truly love live performance.
From plays to pantomimes, concerts to cinema, National Theatre Live screenings to children’s shows and stand-up comedy, Crown Wharf Theatre has quickly become a vibrant hub of creativity and community.
The theatre has welcomed a wide range of local and visiting production companies, including Stone Revellers, Theatre1, Musical Youth Theatre Stafford, Musical Theatre Stafford, Stone Choral, Spitfire Group, Walton Priory, Rooftops, Studio B, Michelle Moss Performing Arts and others.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the 100 incredible volunteers who have together donated over 2,600 hours of their time.
Upcoming highlights for the theatre's second year include Theatre 1’s Songs For A New Decade, Classic and Christmas Cinema screenings, Stone Revellers’ Pantomime Cinderella, and the MYTS Christmas Concert.
And 2026 is already shaping up to be another fantastic year, with shows such as It’s My Life (a one-woman comedy hoping to raise a smile), We Will Rock You (Young @ Part), Bonnie and Clyde, and Beauty and the Beast.
To mark their first birthday, Crown Wharf Theatre are running a special anniversary giveaway for anyone who signs up to receive Crown Wharf Theatre emails between 14th October and 30th November 2025 will be entered into a draw to win four tickets to any Cinema production (subject to availability) - enter here.
