Lichfield Cathedral’s popular Christmas Light Show will return this December with a new festive theme inspired by the Nativity story.

Running from Tuesday 15 to Monday 21 December, Follow the Star will combine projection, light and music in a seasonal spectacle created by acclaimed animation team Illuminos. Visitors can enjoy displays on the Bishop’s Palace and the cathedral’s iconic West Front, while for the first time, projections will also appear inside the Cathedral itself.

Alongside the illuminations, visitors can enjoy seasonal music from local choirs, explore the Christmas Tree Festival and Crib, browse the Cathedral Gift Shop and visit the recently opened SALT café for festive refreshments.

The annual light show has become a festive favourite in the city’s Christmas calendar, attracting visitors from across the region each year. The event offers an opportunity to experience Lichfield Cathedral after dark while celebrating the story of Christmas through light, sound and animation.

The Christmas Light Show runs from 15 to 21 December from 5.15pm. Tickets are on sale now at lichfield-cathedral.org, with proceeds supporting the ongoing work of Lichfield Cathedral.
